A Handbag of Harmonies & Proud Marys Choir

As part of the Chester Heritage Festival we are delighted to welcome back 2 choirs, Handbag of Harmonies and the Proud Marys, both led by  legendary Chester musical director Matt Baker.

A Handbag of Harmonies is a joyous women’s choir based in Chester. Expect great songs, scintillating harmonies and witty choreography combining to produce a performance that fizzes with energy and emotion.

Since their formation in 2000, ‘The Handbags’ have been delighting audiences with their bespoke four-part arrangements of classic popular songs and they enjoy an enviable reputation for injecting their infectious feel-good factor into any event.

Proud Marys are a friendly and inclusive group of LGBT+ men, women and non-binary people of all ages and backgrounds, some with previous singing experience, others with none at all.

 What they have in common that brings them together is a love of music, pride in who we are and a passion for celebrating diversity in our beautiful city.
